Supporting Healthy Snacks in School

Here’s a topic that gets everyone fired up – even the FLOTUS.

First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama, has made kids’ nutrition her crusade throughout her two terms, with her Let’s Move! project – geared toward building healthier relationships with fitness and nutrition for kids, to help curb the growing childhood obesity problem in the US (learn more at http://www.letsmove.gov/). Earlier this spring, she was even able to influence the Nutrition Facts labeling on processed food products to offer more transparency on added sugars and processed fats.

Celebrity chef and Sobeys/Safeway ambassador Jamie Oliver is another well-known name joining the fight to improve the nutrition situation for our future generations. Jamie’s Food Revolution aims to impact the food industry at all levels – from production to sustainability to processing, ensuring that kids have access to healthy foods at school and at home (learn more at http://www.jamiesfoodrevolution.org/).
